'Twixt-mas' walking holiday in the Cotswolds
For one of our 'Twixt-mas' holidays, we shall be based in the quintessentially English countryside of the north Cotswolds.
Our walks will take us through an iconic landscape of undulating hillsides, riverside pasture and honey-coloured stone-built cottages, elegant manor houses and handsome wool churches. Clear winter air should make the views from the Cotswold escarpment outstanding and, if we are exceptionally lucky, we might see wonderful villages such as Stanway, Stanton, Snowshill, Broadway and Mickleton adorned with a dusting of snow.
The holiday will commence with the evening meal on Tuesday 27th December and finish after lunch on Friday 30th December . Aside from the walking the highlights of the holiday will be a mulled cider reception on arrival day, a 'Best of British' evening with local fare such as Bibury trout, Herefordshire beef and seasonal game, and one of Three Ways House Hotel's famous Pudding Club dinners when we shall sample a whole range of the traditional British puddings.
The holiday will be based at Three Ways House Hotel in the village of Mickleton, just outside the attractive town of Chipping Campden. This award-winning hotel, an extremely worthy winner of 'Best Small Hotel of the Year' category in the 2006/2007 South West of England Excellence in Tourism Awards and holder of a Gold Award from both Visit England and the Green Tourism Business Scheme, offers a warm welcome, well-appointed accommodation and superb food.
